Marisa Mason-Smith has demonstrated her ability to lead and excel in various professional and civic roles, including serving as the first Ombudsman of the University of the Bahamas from 2019-2023, focusing on conflict resolution and systemic concerns. She has also served as the Justice of The Peace and acted as Chairman of the National Women’s Advisory Council for two terms. Marisa has earned numerous awards, including Ester Ball Honoree for Leadership & Administration, HR of the Year Award, CEO of The Year Award, National Service Award, HR Executive of the Year, and National Boss of the Year.
Marisa holds a Masters of Science Degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Manchester, England, with a specialization in Productivity Management in Public Sector Organizations, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with a major in Human Resource Management from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida.
